I have most of the mini-amps available on the years of ownership, because I travel with my Pro-Series Traveler guitar a lot. The Johnson Mini is seen by far the best that I play for hotel rooms. I did it for 5 + years and have never had a problem with it. Rating: 5.5

I do not need the amp to sound spectacular, just give my acoustic guitar a little kick, so I was not expecting that, it sounds amazing. It is a small 5 “by 6″ box, For Pete’s Sake. I was very pleased with this amplifier, which for the low price seems so features (headphone jack, AC adapter, three buttons), and volume as one of the more intelligent decisions when you are happy mini-amps. It did not smell like bacon out of the box, but it has a nice, clean sound and is a very cute little amp. This is the kind of amp you would find half a crazy person to play on the side of the road in the deep south, as in the search for the Wrong Eyed Jesus. Johnson is not a known name like Fender or Marshall, but Johnson has made a smart little amp. The volume alone (which is funny, go to 12) is not very powerful – you will increase the volume from the tone and drive knobs. It was a bit risky buying an amp to listen online to no avail, but it was fantastic to save the music, which may be a dubious experience in itself can be avoided. I’m really happy with this amp and would recommend it. I withheld full 5 stars because it would have been nice for this amplifier to have a pocket clip, and was made of wood instead of plastic, but other than that this is a good little amp. I would actually go up to four stars for this amp. Rating: 5.3
